Girls Squash Finishes Season Strong

 By Grace Feingold

On Sunday January 29th, Girls Varsity Squash dominated in the FairWest Cup tournament at the LifeTime fitness facility in Westchester, NY. The team won 5-2 against rival New Canaan, a strong team that they had beaten previously in the season. “Beating New Canaan is definitely exciting for the team and shows other teams that we are the team to beat” said senior and captain, Mia Durst. However, at the same tournament, the team sadly lost against Rye, 7-0. “The team went into the match expecting to lose, but we are excited to have the chance to play them again at Nationals” said senior Lilly Johnson. Girls Squash is expected to dominate at the US Squash Nationals Championship in Hartford, CT on February 10th and 11th. Sophomore Alix Platt, is certain that “although there will be fierce competition at Nationals, we are confident we will work hard to win.”
