On
Friday October 11th, the Blue Wave Varsity Football Team stomped Fairfield
Warde, with a final score of 31-6. With
another victory by over twenty points, Darien continues to show that they are a
very strong team. The Mustangs could not get anything done on offense, and
could not stop the Wave while playing defense. Junior wide receiver Griffin
Ross had two touchdowns, both longer than 40 yards, and Jay Harrison and Nick
Lombardo both also scored. The defense played a very strong game, and nearly
shut out Warde, but the Mustangs scored on the final drive. They were a good team but they couldn't make plays and that held them
back. But on our side of the ball everyone played well and did what
they were supposed to do and we got the job done,” senior Jackson
Lovegrove said.
Come watch the team’s next game vs. Trinity Catholic this
Saturday, October 19th, the Homecoming game.
