On Saturday October 19th, the Darien High School
varsity football team took on Trinity Catholic for its homecoming game. The
game was close for one quarter, and at one point the winless Trinity team
actually led Darien 14-7, but after that Darien had seen enough and began to
take control. The final score was 56-29 with Darien walking away with yet
another dominating win. Senior Nick Lombardo scored three touchdowns, and
junior Griffin Ross scored two touchdowns. Sophomore Mark Evanchick recovered a
fumble and scored, and sophomore Shelby Grant, along with senior Myles Ridder,
all scored touchdowns.
“We came out
slow but we're happy with the win,” sophomore Hudson Hamill said.
With that win, Darien improved to 5-1. Come watch the
Varsity football team take on their next opponent, Ridgefield, on Saturday at
1:30. The game will be played at Darien High School.
