Soccer: Blue Wave Girls Blank Wilton ". . . Awesome. . !"

By Annabel Schneider With lots of closed fields and cancelled games this Thursday (10/27) the girls’ varsity soccer team played on through the rain. With a lot of senior day spirit the girls started the big game against the Wilton Warriors with excitement . The girls weren’t the only ones with spirit; despite the weather there was a great turnout for the game. This was a big game. The team came into the game being ranked 5th and this game's results would be the determining factor for the team's FCIAC opponent as well as narrow possible locations for the FCIAC playoffs for the Girls. The girls started the game off great with a quick goal in the first half off a header from senior captain Marieke Bravo. After heavy dominance on the offensive side the girl got a second one in the back of the net by senior and other captain Caity Dee later on in the second. The girls finished the game 2-0. Senior captain Caity Dee was very excited about the result. “It felt awesome winning on senior day and it was a great way to end the regular season!” The results of other games this week will determine the location of the team’s next game. Be sure to keep following the girls through FCIAC and the states.
