The Wave Basketball team traveled to East Hartford Wednesday, March 8th to play their second game of the state tournament. Unfortunately, the Blue Wave could not defeat the strong East Hartford team that only had two losses on the season, losing 59-43. The boys battled hard throughout, overcoming a halftime deficit of 31-16 and keeping the game close. Alex Preston led the team with 14 points and was a constant force in the paint. Other scoring came from seniors Theo Moore, Carter Scott, and Zak Swetye, who put up 10, 6, and 5 points respectively. East Hartford was one of the best teams in the state and the Wave were proud of their efforts, junior Jack Tierney said; "We played our hearts out but just could not pull out the W. We're really proud of how we played and the seniors should have no regrets". After an unbelievable season, the future still looks bright for the Wave with Head Coach Charoy Bentley coming back and many rising seniors with plenty of talent.
