Darien Baseball Takes on McMahon in First Scrimmage of the Year

By Cord Fox

The Blue Wave Baseball team took on Brien McMahon high school on Saturday, March 25th. This was Darien’s first scrimmage of the year and it was comprised of two seven inning games against the Senators. The Wave had a strong first game with Jake Geddes starting on the mound. In total, the Blue Wave tallied six runs to McMahon’s four. The result was the same in the second game. Although it was only a scrimmage, this was a good test for the Wave to get the season rolling. Many newcomers stepped up in during this scrimmage including Chris Davey who had two doubles that helped Darien put their runs on the board.

The Blue Wave are the defending FCIAC champions and are looking to have another very successful season. There are two more scrimmages this week vs. New Canaan and Wilton before Darien’s first regular season game against Fitch. Come out and support the team as they look to defend their title.
