The number #3 seeded boy’s team kicked off its first FCIAC matchup with an overwhelming victory over #7 Fairfield Warde. The team swept the competition, winning all seven matches. Senior Dane Gebauer won his #1 singles match 6-0, 6-1. #2 singles, senior Chris Martin (pictured above), won 6-2, 6-1. Senior #3 James Critelli also won his match, 6-1, 6-4. “We played them better than when we faced off earlier in the season,” said junior Britt Gordon, who also won his match at #4 singles. With the victory, the team moved on to the second stage of the tournament. Their next matchup is against #2 seed and archrival, New Canaan. The team hopes to carry on its success in the regular season into the playoffs. “We have a good chance of making it to the finals,” Gordon said. “So that’s our goal."
