The Darien Girls Lacrosse Team came out with another thrashing win yesterday afternoon on their home turf with a score of 22-6 against Greenwich Academy. With the rivals stirring up feelings of competition, the girls knew it was going to be a good game. Eveyone was pumped up. "It's always a fun game against GA, you know private school vs. public school and just the fact that we're both good solid teams-it's a fun fight," senior captain Courtney Bennett said. And the girls sure looked like they had fun out there, but at the beginning it didn't look so hot. The girls were not off to a good start when they went down 0-3 in the first three minutes. "Yeah, you know we came out pretty flat but then Lisa (Head Coach) called a timeout and woke us all up and then we just came back out and owned!" senior captain Jenny Joy enthusiastically stated. Lisa really did wake them all up after that little timeout pep talk because the girls came out with a whole new swagger after that and dominated! With now just three more games left in the regular season the girls are looking towards a really positive post season being ranked #1 in the FCIAC they are looking to go right to the top and keep their reign of State Champions! Be sure to catch their next game Monday, May 18th against Fairfield Warde (away) at 4 PM. (Cali Ceglarski pictured above)
