Darien girls varsity lacrosse team faced off against one of its most difficult competitors in Farmington on Saturday. The girls lost with a score of 6-9, making their record fall to 9-1-1. Going into the game, senior Clemmy Little knew that they wouldn’t be able to relax for a second. The girls played their hardest, but didn’t get the result that they strove to achieve. “Farmington was really good. Their defense was their strongest force. We had a hard time getting through their defense,” captain Phoebe Maglathlin said. However, with six goals netted, the girls were able to pull through for the most part. Phoebe noted junior Liz Calby’s (pictured above) positive attributions to the game. “Liz Calby was a stand-out, and played well throughout the entire game,” Maglathhlin said. The girls play Ridgefield on Tuesday, May 5th at 4pm at the DHS stadium.
