The Blue Wave baseball team played the Trumbull Eagles in a stunning loss of 3-1. The team looked as though they took a step back as the bats of the Eagles were too much for the Wave to handle. Senior Devin Burke got the call to pitch for the Wave as he got hurt early by a homerun in the second inning. This inning turned out to be terrible for the wave as the Eagles got off three runs. The homerun was a solo shot while the other runs came off of an error, after loaded bases, by sophomore Dan Pidgeon. The team was hurt by starting shortstop senior Chris Bruno being sidelined due to sickness. Dan got the call in his place, and the bats of the Blue Wave couldn't combat the poor fielding. The Wave will try to bounce back against arch rivals New Canaan away at 4pm on Wednesday.
