The Blue Wave Gymnastics team finished their season strongly on Saturday at State Opens. Unfortunately, none of the three gymnasts who competed at Norwich Free Academy qualified for New Englands, which required placing in the top six in an event. Senior and Captain Kaylyn Van Sciver competed on all events, and Sophomore, and strong competitor this season, Charlotte Morgan also competed on vault, bars, beam, and floor, and only missed qualifying on bars by one tenth of a point! Morgan also placed twelfth all around. Freshman, Katie Southworth competed on vault, bars, and beam, and had a solid meet. The team hopes to recruit some new gymnasts for next year’s season, as they will be losing seven current seniors, to bring in some fresh, new talent.
