DHS ski team has had a successful season this winter and will be competing in States this coming Wednesday, March 4th. The season started off with time trials the Monday December 22nd. From there about 35 kids were selected for the team. Practices started the first Monday of January and were held at Woodbury Ski Area and Mt. Southington in upper Connecticut, about an hour away from Darien. The time commitment to the sport as well as the leadership from seniors Peter Duker, Scott Bora and Marcus D’Iorio and Coach Zeyer has led the team to a great position at the end of the season. Thanks to standout skiers Andrew Del Col, who placed 5th overall at the race on the 26th and sister Meg Del Col who placed 2nd the team will be making an appearance at the State championship on Wednesday.
