Varsity Softball Defeats St. Joe's 3-2

By Taylor Davis

On Monday, April 3rd the Girls Softball team won 3-2 in extra-innings against 3- time FCIAC champion, St. Joes. According to senior captain Cassidy Schiff, “Sophia Barbour pitched a great game and Hailey King was awesome.” The team suffered as senior Captain Kristen Picard was taken out of the game for throwing her bat back and hitting the other team’s catcher. However, freshman Rosali Pirone was able to step up and take Picard’s place, and she hit the game winning run in. Schiff reflected on the game and said, “we definitely could have played better. Their pitcher was not very fast, and we had a hard time adjusting. But as soon as we tied the game up, I knew we were going to win ーwe had all the momentum.”
